A Study on Induced Abortion


Abstract
In order to explore the present states of, induced abortion, this study was conducted on 300 married women:150 house wives, 150 employed women, during the period August, 1982 to September, 1982.
The results were as follows:
1. The rates of induced abortion in employed women group with 71. 3% is more than in house wives group with 48. 3%.
2. The rates of induced abortion by the age in each groups was all high in age of 30 to that of 39 in regard to Number of induced abortion by the age two experiences most in employed women group of age, more than 40 and one experiences was most in house wives group of age, more than 40.
3. There is a significance between the rates of induced abortion and educational level (P<0.01).
That is the rates of induced abortion was increased with the educational level.
4. The birth control was the highest reason of the induced abortion in house wives and employed women group.
The rates of family planning practice was higher in group of employed women(64. 0%) than in that of house wives(42.0¡Æ% ).
5. There is a significance between the rates of family planning practice and the experiencing induced abortion that was higher in experiencing induced abortion than in non-experiencing (P <0.01).
6. The rates of induced abortion by number of children was highest in women two children.
There was a significance between the number of children and the rates of induced abortion in employed group(P<0. 01) and was no significance in house wives gr oup(P> 0.05).
7. It showed that ideal number of children was two.
8. It showed that the facilities that was used for health interview was hospitals (63.3%), health center(1.7%), pharmacy(8. 3%), etc(11.10%).
